An armed robber invaded a home at Gall Hill, Christ Church last night and in the process shot an occupant in the leg.

The police say about 7:45 pm they received a report and responded to a residence at Number One, Hillside Road, Gall Hill where a 68 year old male reported that he was shot during a struggle with an unknown man who had entered his house via the front door which he had left open as he sat eating his food.

The assailant reportedly walked through the open door armed with a firearm with intentions to rob the owner.

The victim was shot in his right thigh and was transported to hospital via ambulance. Meanwhile, the assailant fled the scene via the said front door.

Starcom Network News spoke to an eyewitness who was in the home when the attacked occurred. She’s a Barbadian now resident in the UK and who was staying at the residence.

She has been so traumatized by the event that after this latest trip, it may be a long time before she returns to Barbados.
