More Elderly Being Left to State Care

An increasing number of this country’s elderly have to be cared for by the state as a growing number of families are unable or sometimes unwilling to help.

This has been disclosed by Director of the National Assistance Board, Coleen Walcott, who told the audience of VOB’s Down to Brasstacks call-in program that the since the onset of covid the problem has increased significantly.

 

She indicated a doubling in demand for home care assistance.
