No CXC Maths Exam Resit/Leak Occurred in Jca

Students will not have to re-sit the Caribbean Examinations Council Mathematics Paper Two that was leaked on social media prior to the test.

CXC’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Wayne Wesley, announced during a news conference today that a combination of the Mathematics Paper One and the School-Based Assessments, SBAs, will be used instead to determine grades.

Dr. Wesley disclosed that the leak originated in Jamaica.

Meantime, Barbados’ Education Minister, Kay McConney, notes that CXC found no evidence that there was any leak in Barbados.

She also says that Barbados’ review of its own exam protocols, found no evidence that there was a breach of the CSEC Mathematics Paper 2 here.

Ms. McConney says she shares the sense of relief the students, as well as their parents, will be feeling at not having to re-do the CSEC Math Paper 2.

Barbados spokesperson for the Group of Concerned Parents, Paula-Anne Moore, echoed that sense of relief.
