Police Pursuing Leads as Child Care Board Probes Case of Missing Girls

The police are said to be pursuing leads in relation to two missing 14 year old girls as the Child Care Board also investigates the matter.

Last week the police issued missing persons’ notices for Tanik Jemmott and Ranika Husbands who both lived at Haynesville, St. James and are said to have left home more than two weeks ago.

A person purporting to be one of the girls has posted messages on social media indicating they ran away from home and listing various reasons.
Since the girls are both minors, the authorities are divulging few details about the case but Starcom Network News understands the police are following up what were only described as leads in relation to the case.

Meantime, speaking to journalists during the launch of child month, Director of the Child Care Board, Roseann Richards, said the agency investigates all cases that involve minors.

Without giving any details, Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey, said the child care board is focused on doing what is best for the children.
