International oil and gas explorer Woodside Energy is said to have made significant progress in assessing the oil and gas resources offshore Barbados and found significant prospects for natural gas and also some potential for oil.
The company had acquired the rights to explore the offshore reserves.
The survey results have been outlined by Jamar White, the Director of Natural Resources in the Ministry of Energy and Business.
He was speaking during the estimates presentation in the House of Assembly.
Mr. White believes there’s significant economic potential in the find.
