The family of the victim of last night’s fatal shooting are demanding that the perpetrators be brought to justice and appeal for an end to the gun violence.
Thirty nine year Odwin Grannum died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the early hours of this morning after he and another man were shot outside a shop and liming spot near his home at Licorish Village, My Lord’s Hill, St. Michael.
The shooting occurred at about a quarter to seven.
At Grannum’s family home this morning, grieving relatives, as did neighbours, described the deceased as a very quiet person who kept to himself.
His aunt Gwendolyn Grannum, who raised Odwin after his mother passed away, was grief stricken. She noted that her late nephew was due to celebrate his birthday in a few days and recalled that a grandson was also gunned down about two years ago.
She wants the killers caught.
Residents of the area reported hearing a barrage of gunfire last night.
They say the gun violence is scary and needs to be addressed.
Meantime, Cecil White, the owner of the My Lord’s Hill landmark, the Goalkeeper Bar, wants to make it clear that the shooting did not occur outside his establishment but at another shop some distance away.
