Following two fatal shootings in one day, government’s crime prevention chief promises rollout of his plan in a few weeks.
This after 26-year-old Coby Shepherd of Bedford Lane was gunned down in a ride-by shooting at Upper Gills Road and 47-year-old Mark Armstrong of Hothersal Turning died in the Granville Williams Bus Terminal after being shot.
Armstrong is said to be the son of a well-known veteran calypsonian and is the second son that individual has lost to gun violence.
Corey Layne, Minister of State in the office of the Attorney General with responsibility for Crime Prevention tells Starcom Network News he has a wide-ranging plan.
Mr. Layne says the plan goes to cabinet shortly.
