The manager of the Geriatric Hospital, Heather Payne-Drakes has stressed the importance of constructing a new Geriatric Hospital.

Her comments came last evening during the Barbados Tourism Investment Incorporated virtual public consultation, on the proposed construction of the new Geriatric hospital at Waterford St. Michael.

The hospital is expected to house an increased number of people with over 400 beds provided compared to the 278 currently at the hospital.

Miss Payne-Drakes said this new hospital will aim at creating healthy lifestyles for its clients and staff.
