Attorney-at-Law Gregory Nicholls being sworn in this morning as a government senator by President Dame Sandra Mason at State House.
In attendance were Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, Deputy Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw and Attorney General Dale Marshall.
Senator Nicholls who previously served as a Senator from 2003 to 2008 says he’s humbled to be so appointed once again.
He pledges to champion the cause of working people.
Mr. Nicholls’ appointment follows government withdrawing its bid to amend the constitution to permit an 18 year old to be placed in the Senate… a matter that has attracted significant public comment for and against.
On the streets of Bridgetown this morning members of the public weighed in on the developments.
