This country’s hoteliers remain optimistic about a strong recovery of the tourism industry but fear the new Omicron variant could cause a setback as covid-19 cases surge again in key source markets.
Past president of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association and the Caribbean Hotel Association, Peter Odle, says the impact of Omicron overseas is already being felt.
He was speaking this morning on the BHTA program on VOB.
Mr. Odle, who is also Chairman of the Barbados Port, notes that some hotels have already had cancellations.
