Police deny reports of serial rapist/man charged for indecent assault

A 30-year-old man has been charged with the sexual assault of two women as a result of incidents that occurred in the area of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex at Wildey, St. Michael, but the police say reports of a serial rapist in that area are false.

Christopher Ifill of Browne’s Gap, Sargeants Village, Christ Church, was due in court today to answer to two separate counts of indecent assault that allegedly occurred on August 22nd and 29th.

However, the police have dismissed reports circulating on social media that four women were raped in the area of the sports complex.

The Barbados Police Service’s Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Rodney Inniss, tells Starcom Network News that no such reports have been filed about anyone being raped in that area.

He says the claims as exaggerated attempts to incite fear and assures the public that there is no need to panic.
