Three injured in four-vehicle smash-up

At least three people were injured, two of them critically in a four-vehicle smash-up at Mangrove crossroad in St. Phillip this morning, including a passenger ejected from one of the cars.

The police say the accident occurred about 7:50 am to eight at the junction of Mangrove Road, Sunbury Road, and Market Road.

It involved a Suzuki Swift driven by 23 year old Tia Tull who complained of chest pains and injuries to her right foot while her front seat passenger Colvin Brewster of Church Village, St. Philip was unconscious and both were taken by ambulance to the Queens Elizabeth Hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver of another vehicle, a Kia Picanto, was thrown from the vehicle. Police say he was unable to state his name due to his injuries and was taken away by ambulance for medical attention.

A third vehicle, another Suzuki Swift was driven by 61-year-old Mohammed Jaghu of Gemswick, St. Philip, while also involved in the crash was a Toyota Starlet driven by 36-year-old Brian Carty of Church Hill, Christ Church.
