Thousands of tourism frontline workers being retrained

Approximately 8 000 tourism frontline workers are to be exposed to a series of online retraining sessions to retool them for when the sector rebounds.

The “Barbados Together” E-Learning programme, is the initiative of the Human Resources Sub-Committee of government-led Tourism Action Task Force established to help the sector manage in face of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Director of Tourism in the Ministry of Tourism, Dr. Kerry Hall told an online media briefing that the objective is to reskill and certify tourism leaders and employees.

 

Dr. Hall told reporters she’s also optimistic about the future of the tourism industry’s ability to rebound.
