Straughn appeals for fair deal from international watch dog agencies

Minister in the Ministry of Finance Ryan Straughn has appealed for a fair deal for Barbados from the international watchdog agencies when assessing regulations that affect this country’s critical international business sector.

Barbados has been threatened with blacklisting despite arguing that it’s been doing everything it can to tighten up its anti-money laundering and banking and finance laws.

Speaking this morning as one of the panelists in a UN high-level political forum on sustainable development in 2020 Mr. Straughn suggested that they were inconsistencies in the approach of international agencies.
