Police PRO: ‘better behaviour from public’

Police PRO: ‘better behaviour from public’

Police were this morning deployed to some of the major supermarkets as a precaution but report generally orderly behaviour, as these businesses reopened for phone and online orders and curbside pick-ups.

Police Public Relations Officer, acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, reports the situation today is far different from the huge crowds and rowdy conduct last Friday when it was announced supermarkets would be closed for two weeks.

Acting Inspector Inniss reports generally good compliance with the night-time curfew with up to yesterday, only two people being arrested for breaking curfew.

He also reports long lines at the general post office as pensioners try to cash their cheques.
