Duguid: Brace for more COVID-19 cases

Barbados government minister and medical practitioner, Dr. William Duguid, has warned Barbadians to brace themselves for the possibility of what he calls a significant number of coronavirus cases here and also a blow to the economy that could last a while, and he urges the country to work together to get over the crisis.

Dr. Duguid, the Minister of Transport and Works, was speaking as the estimates debate resumed in the House of Assembly.

He stressed the importance of people following the guidelines, and of everyone working together to battle the COVID-19 threat.

He also emphasised that the vast majority of people who contract the virus recover and can’t get it again.

But Dr. Duguid was concerned that Barbados may not have enough medical supplies.
