The 24 hour curfew due to go into effect in Barbados at 6pm today has been put back by two hours with acting Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw saying this is to allow the supermarkets to stay open longer.

She made the announcement on VOB’s Getting Down to BrassTacks call-in program as Barbados recorded five new cases of corona virus, taking the total here to 51.

It was also against the background of chaotic scenes outside supermarkets today as shoppers rushed to stock up on supplies for the two week shut down.
