The head of the Barbados Alliance to End Homelessness is calling on the opposition Democratic Labour Party to stop the politics over interventions made by the Government to assist socially displaced citizens.
DLP spokesperson on Community Development and Social Welfare, Simon Clarke described Wednesday’s launch of the Social Empowerment Agency as a cosmetic exercise rather than genuine systemic reform.
President of the Alliance Kemar Saffrey, in his response said the DLP should rather partner with Government in solving the social issues in Barbados.
He argued the merger is a long overdue upgrade of an archaic system.
