Concerns are mounting over the Caribbean Examinations Council’s new digital testing system following this week’s Mathematics and English exams.
Students and teachers have reported problems including a shortage of devices, long delays and technical glitches at some testing centers.
CXC Registrar and CEO Dr. Wayne Wesley said yesterday, future examinations will move toward a hybrid and e-assessment model.
However, the Group of Concerned Parents has criticized the rollout, with spokesperson Paula-Anne Moore questioning the readiness of the system.
Ms. Moore is further calling on Ministers of Education across the region to delay the digital rollout during the May – June 2026 exam cycle.
In response, CXC’s Director of Operations Dr. Nicole Manning acknowledged the concerns but says the issues were external to the council’s infrastructure.
