The ruling St. Lucia Labour Party has won the general election, capturing 16 of the 17 seats, with one going to the main Opposition – Unity Workers Party (UWP).
The lone UWP seat has been secured by Party leader and former Prime Minister Allen Chastanet retaining the Micoud South constituency.
Prime Minister Phillip J Pierre easily secured his Castries East seat for a sixth consecutive term.
Independent candidates and government ministers Stephenson King and Richard Frederick, who were supported by the SLP, also won their seats by wide margins.
