Members of the public are being advised by health and fire officials to avoid the Market Hill/Bel Air, St. George area due to an ongoing chemical fire involving pesticides, fertilisers, plastics, and household chemicals.
Chief Fire Officer Errol Maynard and Chief Medical Officer Kenneth George have further advised that anyone affected by the noxious fumes should seek alternative accommodation, particularly vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and persons with respiratory conditions.
Individuals experiencing symptoms such as wheezing or shortness of breath are urged to seek immediate medical attention at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital or at any 24-hour clinic.
