No Labour shortage or skills deficit says DLP Senator, Ryan Walters

Democratic Labour Party Senator Ryan Walters, is rejecting claims of a labour shortage in Barbados.

Citing data from the Barbados Statistical Service, the Shadow Minister for Business insists there are thousands of Barbadians actively seeking work, and says the Government’s free movement initiative is misguided.

Mr. Walters argues the focus should be on creating local opportunities, not importing labour.

Senator Walters was speaking at a DLP St. James Central Meeting last night where he further charged that political interference was hindering the employment process.
