Community activist David Oxley has expressed concern about the ongoing issue of childhood obesity in Barbados.
He is urging parents to act quickly and get their children involved in sports from an early age.
Speaking after hosting his 17th My Lords Hill 5K Community Run and Walk yesterday with a record 12 schools participating, Mr. Oxley said efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle should begin at the primary school level.
Also in attendance was Minister in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Davidson Ishmael who lauded the annual event and said Barbadians needed to act urgently in addressing the issue of obesity.
