The Government has begun upgrading its Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES) to meet university-level standards.
The move was officially announced this morning during the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment and the University of the West Indies.
The credentialing project, which is expected to take 11 months, will allow future participants to receive certification from the UWI Global Campus starting next year.
Principal of UWI Global Campus, Dr. Francis Severin, says the initiative marks a major step in offering more credible and recognised qualifications to young entrepreneurs.
