Six Homeless After Passage Road Fire

Six people have been displaced after their house was destroyed by fire at Passage Road, St. Michael this morning.

Acting Divisional Officer, of the Barbados Fire Service, Wayne Vaughn, said three fire tenders responded to the fire around 8:20am, and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to other structures.

 

Meantime, 84-year-old Deatrice Seale who was one of the occupants said she was not at home when the fire started.

 

A family member who came to the scene recounted the ordeal.

Member of Parliament for the area Chris Gibbs was also on the scene, speaking to the displaced family.
Mr. Gibbs said that he is arranging for provision to be made to assist the family both in the short and long term.
