The police confirm that they are investigating the reported death of a student of a medical university located in Barbados.

However, the police say an autopsy will have to be conducted to determine the cause of death including if it was suicide.

Starcom Network News had sought clarification from the police after an article was published on an online blog alleging that a student had died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector Rodney Inniss, would only say the matter is being investigated and the cause of any such death would need to be confirmed by an autopsy.
