Police Commissioner Reports a Decline in Major Offences

Commissioner of Police Richard Boyce reports a decline in major offences being recorded over a three year period.

Speaking this morning as he delivered the 2022 year in review during  the Barbados Police Service Annual Grand Conference 2023 at the District A Police Station, Mr. Boyce said the major offences recorded at the end of last year was 947 a significant decline when compared to 1 thousand 729 in 2019.

Mr. Boyce said their Operation Restore Order Programme in collaboration with the Barbados Defence Force has been a success in helping to reduce firearm related crimes.

He also reported a significant increase in drug activity last year, with cannabis and cocaine remaining the main choice of drugs for traffickers and users.
