Cannabis Authority Looks to Collect Millions

The Barbados Cannabis Licensing Authority has issued 29 permits and is looking to collect millions of dollars in fees.

This has been disclosed by Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Indar Weir.

So far, we’ve had 29 licenses from 12 applicants, and are currently at various stages of processing at the BMCLA; seven cultivators, six import, five retail, four transport, three export, three processor, one research and development. It’s expected that by the end of March the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing and Authority will collect between Barbados 1.5 to 2.1 million, in application and license fees.
