Plan for Schools Online Rest of Week if Bus Strike Continues

The Ministry of Education has told principals, teachers and parents to prepare for online classes at government schools for the rest of the week if the strike by Transport Board workers isn’t resolved.

Chief Education Officer Dr. Ramona Archer-Brandshaw has issued a memo to that effect to principals of all public nursery, primary, secondary and special schools.

She confirmed to Starcom Network News that the contingency plan has been put in place.

The lack of state buses to transport students and school staff resulted in the closure of public schools today.

Some parents complained the notice that there was no school today came too late as many children were already on the road.

Dr.  Archer-Bradshaw responded to that concern.

Dr.  Archer-Bradshaw notes that private schools remain open.
