More Calls for Action on Gun Violence/3 Shootings/5 Injured

Calls from the public for action to end the gun violence grew louder today as four young men remain hospitalized.

This follows shootings in St. Lucy and St. Michael, including a drive-by last night in which three youngsters were shot.  Someone was also reportedly injured in a shooting at the Pine and there were reports of shots fired at Chapman Lane.

The drive-by attack occurred about 11 pm at Pioneer Road, Bush Hall, where people in a car first drove through the area, apparently scoping out the targets before returning and opening fire.

A resident tells Starcom Network News she’s shocked at what happened as the young victims aren’t troublemakers and were liming after their usual football game.

The resident is unsure about the cause of the attack but wants the gun violence to stop.

Another resident told Starcom Network News that the recent upsurge in gun violence has left him feeling scared.

Meanwhile, one resident in Salmond St.Lucy said he is also concerned with the level of gun violence in the country at this time.
