BPSA Urges Gov’t to Seek Payment from Businesses Owing NIS Millions

The Barbados Private Sector Association urges the government to go after businesses it says owe the National Insurance Scheme millions of dollars.

Chairman of the BPSA, Trisha Tannis, was speaking on VOB’s Down to Brasstacks call-in program in response to a caller who raised the issue of employers failing to make NIS payments on behalf of workers.

Mrs. Tannis notes that the NIS is owed tens of millions of dollars based on actuarial estimates.
