Police Seek to Identify Man Found Shot Dead in Car

The police say they are yet to formally identify the victim in this country’s latest shooting, a man found shot dead in a car in St. Philip last night.

The police believe that the immediate family, relatives, or friends of the man may not be aware yet that he is missing. He is described as a young male who appears to be in his 20s. He was driving a white Mazda motor car bearing P Registration number plates. The incident occurred near Castle Heights, at its junction with Eastbourne main Road, St. Philip.

It was reported about 9:50 pm last night that a number of loud gunshots were heard before a motorcar travelling along the roadway ran off the carriageway striking some shrubbery in a garden located in front of a residence.

On responding to the scene Police were pointed to a vehicle and inside was the body of an adult male slumped motionless in the driver’s seat.

The police say anyone who thinks they may be able to identify this individual can do so by contacting the District C Police Station 416-8200 or Oistins Police Station 418-2612. To make arrangements to view his body. They are also appealing to the general public for any information regarding this matter. Anyone who has witnessed or has knowledge of this incident or its occurrence is urged to contact the Police or Police Emergency at 211 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 8477 (TIPS).
