UNESCO Partners with Barbados to Make Country Tsunami Prepared

UNESCO has partnered with Barbados to make the country Tsunami prepared.

This was disclosed by Minister of Home Affairs and Information, Wilfred Abrahams as he addressed regional representatives, during the opening ceremony of the Sub-Regional Tsunami Evacuation Mapping Workshop.

Mr. Abrahams said it is critical to focus on being prepared for the possibilities of tsunamis within the sub-region.

Meantime, Programme Officer for Tsunamis and other Coastal Hazards, for UNESCO Caribbean Tsunami Information Centre, Alison Broome reinforced the importance of the programme in preparing the region to be Tsunami prepared.
