A 51-year-old man has been charged with the murder of St. Peter resident Gloria Leacock.
Richard Ricardo Jordan of ‘No Fixed Place of Abode’ was arrested and charged by officers from the Northern Division of the Criminal Investigation Department following a breakthrough of their investigations into the elderly woman’s death.
The body of 86-year-old Leacock was discovered around 10 minutes past 10, on the morning of Saturday 23rd July by the police, who were summoned to the residence after they received a report that friends and family members were trying unsuccessfully to contact Ms. Leacock.
Police believe she was killed sometime between Friday, July 22nd, and Saturday 23rd at Church Street, St. Peter.
Jordan is expected to appear before Magistrate Wayne Clarke at the Holetown Magistrates Court today.
