Barbados records 718 new COVID-19 cases.

299 males and 419 females, were recorded on Wednesday, August 3, from the 1,566 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Two elderly persons have lost their lives as a result of COVID-19.

They are an 87-year-old man who passed away on Wednesday, August 3, and a 91-year-old woman who died today, Thursday, August 4.

Their deaths have brought the number of casualties from the virus to 497.

Of the positive cases, 80 persons were under the age of 18, and 638 were 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 62, while 2,799 were in home isolation.
