Woman Seriously Injured in Early Morning Car Crash

A 22-year-old female was seriously injured early this morning after attending the Foreday Jam. She was driving along Walmer Lodge Road, St. Michael when her vehicle with St. Lucy plates crashed into a rock wall at Lazaretto near the entrance to the Usain Bolt complex.

The female was thrown from the vehicle and suffered injuries to her head, chest, and back.

According to Public Affairs and Communications Officer, Inspector Rodney Inniss, the accident was reported to the Black Rock Police Station at 6:30 am. The vehicle involved was a motorcar and the driver was the sole occupant.

The female driver was treated at the scene by medical personnel and she was subsequently transported by ambulance for medical attention.

Investigations are ongoing.
