Almost 4 Thousand Sign Up for Summer School Meals/Deadline Extended

Over 37 hundred students have so far registered for the recently announced summer school meals program.

The Summer Nutrition or “SUN” program was announced last week by Prime Mottley as part of a series of measures to assist families.

Chief Education Officer, Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, tells Starcom Network News the registration deadline has also been extended.

The education chief says there will be 48 centres.

Meantime, the Barbados Union of Teachers has welcomed the program.

President of the Union, Rudy Lovell is encouraging teachers to participate in the scheme.

But, he says those who opt not to do so will not be victimized.
