Fire Destroys Christ Church Beach House, Disrupts Telecoms Services

A fire has destroyed a Christ Church Beach house, slightly damaged another property, and disrupted telecommunications services to surrounding areas.

The blaze, in the very early hours of this morning, raced through the property that’s located on the beach opposite the Golden Sands Hotel on Maxwell Road in Christ Church.

Fire Service Divisional Officer, Wayne Vaughn, led the team that responded to the fire.

We received a call or a structural fire. On arrival we found the structure fully engulfed in flames. The respondents, myself and nine fire officers with a fire truck from Worthing and one from Bridgetown. It took us about an hour and a half to get the fire fully under control, and there was slight damage to the property below, some embers blew onto the roof and we had to extinguish that as well. I said we bought out from under control about an hour and a half hour and to two hours. The building was completely destroyed.
