Junior Monarch Contestants Draw for Positions

Junior Monarch Contestants Draw for Positions

Corporate Communications Specialist at the National Cultural Foundation, Toni Yarde says the juniors are fully prepared for the contest on Saturday. She was speaking at Scotia Bank as contestants in the Junior Monarch contest drew for positions.

Nine will compete for the Calypso Monarch title and eight contestants for the soca competition.

Things have been smooth because we have the cooperation of the parents and our new music officer Mr. Kevin Moore, who you saw this morning. He’s doing a really good job because he’s a teacher by profession. He’s accompanied by Dr. Stefan Walcott and we really have not had any hiccups with the juniors. The juniors have been very easy to work with and to get into shape and excited.  You can see it this morning, they’re very excited about Saturday.

Ms. Yarde, reports all plans in place for a smooth and successful CropOverFestival.

We’re basically running full throttle right down from now. We have some events and some stuff going on as it relates to the Grand Kadooment route, we’re going to be driving that route with the band leaders, and then we have the foreday morning we’re going to do the same thing. So that people get a clear understanding of what the routes look like, since we have announced the changes last weekend.
