Ezra Alleyne Has Passed

Prominent attorney, newspaper columnist and constitutional expert Ezra Alleyne has passed away. He was 78 years old.

Ezra Alleyne was elected to Parliament in 1976 on a Barbados Labour Party ticket where he was then the youngest person in the House of Assembly at 32 years of age. He served as Deputy Speaker.

Ezra Allyene was an old scholar of the Combermere School and studied law at Queen Mary College and the University of London in the UK.

He was a lecturer in constitutional and corporate law at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus and wrote a regular column for the Nation Newspaper.
