One Man Shot Dead, Three Others Injured In The Latest Gun Violence

One man is dead and several injured in the latest incident of gun violence, the second such scenario in just a few days.

he latest shooting occurred about ten minutes past midnight at the Blackwood Screwdock at Cavans Lane, St. Michael. The gunfire erupted as passengers continued to arrive for what was scheduled to be a ten to two cruise.

Twenty six year-old Rashad Mathurin of Westbury Road, St. Michael was shot and died at the scene. Three other men were injured; 42 year old Larry Clarke of Greenfield, St. Michael, 27 year-old Eva Goodridge of Appleby Gardens, St. James and 31 year-old Akeem Arthur of Fernihurst, Black Rock, St. Michael. They were taken taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where they have been undergoing treatment.

Four vehicles were also damaged in the hail of bullets that erupted as the crowd scattered. Police are still at the scene and appeal for anyone with information on the matter to contact the service or Crime Stoppers.
