$30M To Help A Thousand of the Most Vulnerable

Government is looking to international lending agencies, the diaspora and locals to help raise the majority of about thirty million dollars a year it plans to spend to help a thousand of the most desperate families in this country.

Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey, has told the audience of VOB’s Down to Brasstacks call-in program that there are thousands of people in this country that remain in a dire situation.

He says it will be a comprehensive program that also provides help with housing and finding jobs.

And, an additional two hundred disabled people will get help.

Mr. Humphrey detailed how the program will be funded.

Meantime, Mr. Humphrey disclosed that the topical issue of rising prices and the cost of living will be a key agenda item for an upcoming meeting of the social partnership.
