Shooting scare in the Ivy

Shooting scare in the Ivy

A man was injured and a car damaged in a shooting at the Ivy Main Road, St. Michael last night.

The police say the incident occurred about 730 PM in the area directly opposite the kiosks on Blenheim playing field.

A man who was walking in the area was shot while a parked car was damaged.

The injured man was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by private vehicle.

Meantime, residents of the Ivy, St. Michael and surrounding areas say they are increasingly uneasy over intermittent gun violence in the area.

A resident whose voice we have disguised as he asked not to be identified, tells Starcom Network News the increasing frequency of such events in recent years is a major worry. He urges action to deal with gun violence there and elsewhere in the country.
