A variety store owner is now pondering what will be his next move after the forty year old family business was gutted by fire early this morning.
Samjay’s Variety at Belmont Road, St. Michael was extensively damaged in a blaze around 5am.
Police forensic investigators have been examining the site to try to determine how the fire started.
Orville Redman, the proprietor, tells Starcom Network News that the business that was started by his father has been operating from that location since 1982.
He told us about how he first knew something was wrong.
Mr. Redman estimates his losses to be in excess of a hundred thousand dollars.
And while he says the event has left him depressed he pledges to fight on.
