A man has been killed in a freak accident at his Chalky Mount, St. Andrew home.

The incident occurred about 5 45 pm on Saturday, when the man’s car that had been parked on a slope rolled backwards over him.

Police say they received a report that a man who was at his residence went to his vehicle which was experiencing some mechanical problems.

He’s said to have removed a concrete slab on which the vehicle was propped to stop it from rolling backwards since the terrain was uneven and sloped.

He reportedly removed the slab and when the vehicle started to roll back wards he stood behind it to stop it from rolling further.

However, the vehicle’s momentum pushed the man to the ground and it ran over him before travelling about 30 feet along the yard then plunging into a 7 feet deep ravine.

Ambulance personnel responded to the scene but found no sign of life.

A medical doctor visited the scene and pronounced the man dead.
