Barbados on monkey pox watch

Barbados health authorities say they are in preparedness mode for any cases of Monkey Pox that might reach these shores even as they note that the virus is less easily spread than covid-19 and cases of the illness are often relatively mild.

Government’s chief infectious diseases expert, Dr. Corey Forde, the Head of Isolation Facilities, addressed the issue on VOB’s Down to Brass Tacks program this morning.

Meantime, Dr. Forde reminds the country that covid-19 is still with us and says while life must go on, people should still be careful and follow the protocols, such as when attending mass gatherings like as Agrofest this weekend.
