Police are conducting an investigation into the unnatural death of 69 year old John David of Mount Standfast, St. James who was found dead at his residence about 9:45 this morning..

A news release from the service says that officers received a report from a woman who identified herself as the wife of the deceased.

She stated that on returning home this morning she discovered the deceased kneeling in the yard with a rope around his neck.

Police responded and on arrival, they found the deceased lying motionless on the ground.

A medical doctor was also summoned and pronounced death at the scene.

The police are appealing for anyone who may have information that may assist with this investigation to contact Holetown Police Station or Police Emergency at 211.
