Safety concerns scuttle covid-positive vote

Covid-19 positive people in isolation will not be able to vote due to the safety concerns of the covid-19 unit and election workers.

This has been disclosed by Chairman of the Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Leslie Haynes.

He tells Starcom Network News that the commission had several meetings to consider ways to allow covid-19 positive people to vote.

However, there were two main issues – the Covid-19 Unit was very concerned about the risks involved and many of the electoral officers were reluctant to take the risk of dealing with covid-19 infected people in isolation.

He indicated the authorities were very much willing to consider ways for the covid-positive to vote.
