A St. Michael woman is dead, and another is in custody following a stabbing in the city yesterday.

The deceased is 27 year old Shanice Miller of Kensington New Road, St. Michael.

She passed away at the Queen Elizaberth Hospital in the early hours of this morning.

Miss Miller was stabbed multiple times about the body in an altercation with another woman around 8 30 yesterday (Saturday) morning at Upper James Street near its junction with Synagogue Lane.

She then ran toward Central Police Station where she collapsed.

An ambulance was summoned and she was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery but later succumbed to her injuries.

A person of interest is in police custody.
