Amidst an increase in the number of people from the Caribbean and elsewhere seeking jobs in Barbados, government wants to put measures in place to give Barbadians a better chance of landing the jobs available here.

Minister of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, Santia Bradshaw, wants among other things, to find better ways to match the skills being provided school leavers with the requirements of employers.

She was addressing the Barbados Accreditation Council’s inaugural virtual expo.

Ms. Bradshaw announced plans for the creation of a National Qualifications Register and for an overhaul and renaming of the Barbados Accreditation Council.
